There seems to be more and more problems in the juvenile justice system. Many communities have tried to implement a curfew system but some find it doesnít work in many of the inner cities. Other areas find the curfew system works but find great opposition to it from the parents of those very kids who need a curfew. These are often the kids who end up in the juvenile justice system.

There are a lot of reasons a child will end up in front of a judge in juvenile court. The first reason is because they have very little supervision at home. The second is because the supervision they have at home is unconcerned with parenting and the third is because the parent is a criminal or drug user. Nonetheless, most of the time when a teenager or other young person ends up in the juvenile justice system it is because of failed parenting.

Itís easy to blame a child for their own actions. Parents do it all of the time because they donít want to accept responsibility for their childrenís actions. Yet, in many cases, parents are responsible for their children and how they act and react in certain situations, especially those that land them in a system designed originally for adults.

The justice system is no place for a child but because so many parents have looked the other way as their children have become a menace to society they often do end up in court. The once vulnerable youth of our world are the very people who make horrible decisions which ultimately lead them to disciplinary proceedings which can place them behind bars.

The juvenile justice system is failing because parenting is not working in todayís world. The child who is raised in day care throughout the day and thrown with babysitters at night barely knows their working parents. The drug problem among adults is another growing problem. The juvenile justice system needs to improve greatly because the youth of the world needs to depend on responsible adults in the community to take a stand when the parents they have at home refuse to do so.
